The short version: a design-build general contractor, run by the family whose name is on it, working out of Jupiter since 1995.
Winfree Contracting is a family owned and operated, full-service design-build general contracting and construction management firm. Whit Winfree started the company in 1995 and still runs it. His license goes back further: he's been a state certified general contractor since 1989, and before that he came through the University of Florida's School of Building Construction.
The work has ranged widely on purpose. Commercial, industrial, retail and residential, from custom riverfront homes to churches, dental offices and specialty storage buildings. Jupiter is home base, and the license covers every county in Florida.
The trademark on our letterhead reads Building Relationships. The quips corner of the company newsletter keeps a Bill Winfree line pinned that says it plainer: “An honest man's pillow is his piece of mind.”
How we run a job
The brochure calls it the Team Concept: every project starts by bringing all the parties in and establishing the lines of communication and cooperation the job will live on. Applied early, it keeps the process working for everyone. The rest is one stop shopping. WCI takes a project from site selection through planning, entitlements, engineering and permits, then builds it, so the owner deals with one firm instead of refereeing five.
